Get to know the Baltic sea waves while windsurfing, surfing and stand up paddling. You want to sea more?
In Warnemünde, there is never low tide as it is as unlikely to appear on the Baltic Sea as the high tide – or as boredom would. Therefore you can leave your towel lying on the widest sandy beach of the German Baltic coast all day long. Meanwhile you can play soccer, volleyball, handball, basketball or badminton on the Active Beach, salute the sun during your morning yoga exercise or jog into the sunset‚ as once The Hoff‘ did.
In and on the water the possibilities are not getting less: With kite and windsurfers as well as sailors cruising in front of the scenery of the lighthouse, the beach building with cafés, bars and restaurants tenderly called ‚Teepott‘, right next to it open-air concerts are a regular event, opportunities for activities in, on and above the water are just as varied.
Besides, board artists will have guaranteed waves even during calm periods, since the cruise ships and ferries passing by close to the beach ensure an all-day up and down.
You will feel invited for an ‚after beach‘ stay by the Alter Strom with its quaint fisherman’s houses, the fishing vessel harbour and numerous restaurants and bars where you can get after only a few minutes’ walk from the DOCK INN. And if you wish to set out on a longer tour you can rent bikes at the DOCK INN.
Warnemünde is open all year round, and it is weatherproof at all times. Sailing events such as Warnemünde Week, Hanse Sail, the port parties of the more than 180 cruise ships a year or the largest Christmas market in northern Germany are only some of the many reasons attracting millions of visitors at all seasons of the year.
And after having seen it all, just get on the suburban railway train stopping in front of the DOCK INN and get to the city centre of the old Hanseatic City of Rostock within 15 minutes. There is always plenty of events at clubs, theatres, cinemas, museums and many other cultural facilities.
Get to know the waves of Warnemünde while you surf, windsurf or enjoy stand up paddling. The Baltic sea is perfect for all kinds of fun in the water.
Come and surf!
Beginners will find the perfect spot for their first try because of the calm sea and the light breeze. But when the strong north-east and north-west winds start, even the Baltic Sea becomes a challenging surf territory.
You want to scout out the area around the DOCK INN? No Problem at all. Our stylish “Diamant” rental bikes will bring you as fast as the wind through the lowlands. No matter if you choose to explore the famous “Gostwoods” in Nienhagen, if you choose to get the ferry to Hohe Dühne or trail along the big bikeway network around Rostock. With our rental bikes you’ll be stylish and save along the way.
Especially the unique ferry waves that are created by the ferry boats every two hours. These waves roar up to half an hour – and reach with a height of 50 to 150 cm the perfect level for surfing. You can also try to tame the Baltic Sea while wind surfing or kiting.
We are sure you’ve seen them already an eyed them in envy: stand up paddler. Warnemünde is ideal for this trend sport as well. From relaxation during long tours, to your daily full-body-workout, to the outriding of waves, that’s all possible on your SUP!
Still want to sea more? Why not book your stay at the DOCK INN including a beginners class watersports with our friends from Supreme Surf: Sleep and Surf Package.
